CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
YESYOGA
is an amalgam of styles of yoga influenced and inspired by the methods
and principles of Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa, Yin and more.
It is an energetic practice, with roots in developing core strength
and discipline. Each class is different yet remains constant in
its goals which are to expand and deepen the student's knowledge
of yoga and its benefits, physically and spiritually. Room
temperature is kept between 80 and 90 degrees to facilitate deeper
stretching and detoxification.
Gentle/Intermediate
Creative sequencing of movement with focus on
sustaining postures, encouraging exploration of alignment and
attention to breath. Working energetically yet thoughtfully
to accommodate participant's individual needs. This class is open to
students of all levels. Beginners can construct the foundation for
their practice and students of all levels can explore and expand
their existing practice.
Intermediate/Advanced
A "Vinyasa-style" class
where multiple modifications are offered and individual exploration
is encouraged. Vigorous and challenging enough for serious athletes
yet embraces students of all levels. This class builds strength and
endurance, and encourages students to go "one step beyond"
while recognizing and respecting their body's own limits. Inversions
and arm-balances are introduced for students to explore in increments,
progressing from basic to more advanced postures as core strength,
balance and confidence increase.
